Meet Dr. Goodyear

Dr. Linda Goodyear - Dentist in St. John's. NLHi!  My name is Dr. Linda Goodyear and I have owned and operated the dental practice located in Chamberlains, Conception Bay South, for 15 years.  I have recently relocated to Churchill Square in St. John’s.  As well, I have offered services to Bell Island, at the dental clinic located at Dr. Walter Templeman Hospital.

Since graduating from Dental School, I have worked in 5 other provinces before settling in St. John’s.  I am a graduate of Dalhousie University, where I first obtained a Science Degree.  However, my initial studies began at St. Xavier University, where I completed a degree in Business Administration.

As for my personal life, there have been several major projects, some of which are outlined here to give you an idea of my crazy busy life.

Travel is my passion. I attended the FIFA World Cup of Soccer in Italy and South Africa with a few side trips that included a safari trip to the Serengeti and a spice tour of Zanzibar.  It was a trip of a lifetime.

Other vacations have included Russia, South America, Egypt and South East Asia. I am just back from Wales, with a side trip to Spain, Portugal and Morocco. (LOVE MOROCCO!)

Many of these journeys have been humanitarian in nature.  In 2005, I participated in a recovery project in Thailand after the tsunami.  In 1999, I volunteered for the American Red Cross following Hurricane Gabriel in Puerto Rico.  Haiti has been my latest initiative, after traveling to the earthquake torn country, I would like very much to become involved in a project to place a dental clinic in the Adventist Hospital of Port au Prince.

Being athletic is another one of my pursuits, having played soccer  in the Ladies Soccer League in Paradise.  These days you’ll find me toiling away at the local gym or hiking around Signal Hill.  Irish dance, the odd book and piano lessons keep me busy in the off hours.  Oh and perhaps another run at politics may be in my future.

I currently reside in St. John’s with my two cats: Puss and Boots, and a magnanimous “Chorkie” named Wolfie.  Any other left over time, you can find me in Carmanville renovating my Great-grandfather’s house which can be seen on the Newfoundland and Labrador Registered Heritage Properties website.

I enjoy meeting new patients, particularly those who may be nervous because of a bad experience with dental care.  I love to instill confidence in these patients and help them tackle their anxiety around dental care.

Hope to see you soon!
